I have for several years thought about doing a herdshare program. Herdshares will cost $10 per that allows you a weekly pickup of 1 gallon of milk, 1 container of each of the extras that have been made . When time permits to make,\ I'll also have chevre cheese, fudge and caramel. I have the ability to offer 10-15 herdshares at this time. I am getting 4 gallons of milk a day with more girls to kid out.
There is a contract to sign.
Prices per WEEKLY pickup:
gallon of milk - $12
1/2 gallon milk - $6
4 oz of chevre cheese -$7
chocolate fudge - $7
caramel -?
deposit on mason jars - $3
I have some gallon jugs and 1/2 gallon mason jars. All jars must be washed and cleaned when returned. No one likes the smell of sour milk! I have a kitchen and fridge in the upper level of the barn where pickups can be done. I can meet up at Pomona CeeBee on Tuesdays or Wednesdays as those are my off days at this time.
